Charles Langlois (actor)
Charles Langlois (1692–1762) was a French actor who spent a large part of his career in Sweden, where he was to play an important part in Swedish theatre history as the originator of the first national theatre in Sweden, and its first director. He was also a composer. Life and career Charles Langlois was born in Paris and became an actor early in life with a travelling theatre troupe who toured the French countryside. He married his colleague, Jeanne Perrette le Chevalier, with whom he had a son, Alexandre, in 1718. Moving to Sweden In 1723, Langlois and his family arrived in Sweden as members of the troupe, which was hired to perform at the theatre of Bollhuset in Stockholm under the leadership of Jean-Baptiste Landé. His speciality was playing kings and peasants within French theatre, and Scaramouche on the Italian stage, while his wife took the parts of queens and other characters. Christina Fredenheim
Christina Elisabet Fredenheim ( née Hebbe) (1762–1841) was a Swedish artist, singer and noblewoman. She was a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. Christina Fredenheim was a well known and acknowledged non professional musician and singer. She was married to the noble Carl Fredrik Fredenheim, intendent of the Royal academies. She was considered a very good soprano, but her lack of professional training caused her to make some noted mistakes in her performances. Her social position made it considered to be unsuitable for her to perform professionally; as other dilettante artists from the upper classes, she performed in public only at charity concerts and such, otherwise only in private. Fabian Von Fersen (1762–1818)
Count Fabian Reinhold von Fersen (7 October 1762, Stockholm – 10 March 1818, Stockholm) was a Swedish count, politician, officer and courtier. He was the son of Axel von Fersen the Elder and Hedvig Catharina De la Gardie and the brother of Count Axel von Fersen the Younger, Hedvig Eleonora von Fersen and Sophie Piper. Life Fabian von Fersen served in the Royal Life Guards from 1771 and 1796 and climbed through the ranks from an ensign to a colonel lieutenant. In 1793–1802, he was a ''Valet de chambre'' and in 1802–10 a Chamberlain (office) at the royal court. He served as a member of the nobility in the ''riksdag'' several times between 1789 and 1818. In 1796, he belonged to the entourage accompanying Gustav IV Adolf on the king's marriage trip to Russia. Before the deposition of Gustav IV Adolf during the Coup of 1809, he prevented the monarch from the withdrawal of funds from the national bank. The Drottningholm Palace Theatre ( sv , Drottningholms slottsteater) is an opera house located at Drottningholm Palace in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the few 18th century theatres in Europe that is still used as a theatre with its original stage machinery. Currently, the reinvigorated theatre has acquired a growing international reputation as a summer opera festival theatre by focusing on works by Haydn, Handel, Gluck and Mozart and emphasis on authentic performance.
