Christian VI
Christian VI (30 November 1699 – 6 August 1746) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1730 to 1746. The eldest surviving son of Frederick IV and Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, he is considered one of Denmark-Norway's more anonymous kings, but he was a skilled politician, best known for his authoritarian regime. He was the first king of the Oldenburg dynasty to refrain from entering in any war. During his reign both compulsory confirmation (1736) and a public, nationwide school system (1739) were introduced. His chosen motto was "''Deo et populo''" (for God and the people). Molde () is a town and municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Romsdal. Johan Herman Wessel
Johan Herman Wessel (6 October 1742 – 29 December 1785) was an 18th-century Danish-Norwegian poet, satirist and playwright. His written work was characterized by the use of parody and satiric wit. Biography Wessel was born and raised at Vestby in Akershus, Norway. He was the son of Jonas Wessel (1707–1785) and Helene Maria Schumacher (1715–1789). His father was a parish priest. He was one of thirteen children in a family. His younger brothers included mathematician Caspar Wessel (1745–1818) and jurist Ole Christopher Wessel (1744–1794) His sister-in-law was landowner Maren Juel (1749–1815) and naval hero Peter Tordenskjold (1690–1720) was his grand uncle. He entered attended Oslo Cathedral School in 1757 followed by the University of Copenhagen in 1761. At the university, he studied foreign languages. Karen Toller (1662 – 13 August 1742) was a Norwegian estate owner and ship owner. She was born in Tønsberg; the daughter of Niels Toller (c.1624–1676) and Kirsten Andersdatter Tonsberg, and a granddaughter of merchant and Mayor of Christiania Niels Toller (d. 1642) She was married to General Caspar Herman Hausmann Caspar Herman Hausmann was a Danish-Norwegian General, lumber merchant and squire.
