16th Mumbai International Film Festival
The 16th Mumbai International Film Festival ( Mumbai International Film Festival) was held from 28 January to 3 February 2020. The list included various kind of Documentaries, short fiction and animation films. The festival also celebrated the birth centenary of Satyajit Ray by showcasing documentaries made by him including short film '' Pikoo'' (1980), '' Sukumar Ray'' (1987) and ''The Inner Eye'' (1972). In addition the festival showcased ''Satyajit Ray, Filmmaker'' (1982), directed by Shyam Benegal, and Sagnik Chatterjee’s documentary '' Feluda: 50 Years of Ray's Detective'' (2019), which focuses on Ray’s popular Feluda stories. Films Division Of India
The Films Division of India (FDI), commonly referred as Films Division, was established in 1948 following the independence of India. It was the first state film production and distribution unit, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, with its main intent being to "produce documentaries and news magazines for publicity of Government programmes" and the cinematic record of Indian history. FDI was divided into four wings; these are Production, Distribution, International Documentary and Short Film Festival. The Division produces documentaries/news magazines from its headquarters in Mumbai, films on defence and family welfare from New Delhi and featurettes focussing on rural India from the regional centres at Calcutta now (Kolkata) and Bangalore. Utpal Borpujari
Utpal Borpujari is a double National Film Award winner; one, as a film critic, and the other, as a filmmaker. In 2003, he won the Swarna Kamal for Best Film Critic at the 50th National Film Awards of India.
