14th FAMAS Awards
The 14th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held 1n 1966 for the Outstanding Achievements for the year 1965. ''Ang Daigdig Ng Mga Api'' was the first film ever to win all the major awards in FAMAS history including the FAMAS Award for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay. It was also the first film to ever win four (out of six) acting awards from the FAMAS: Best Actor (Robert Arevalo), Best Actress (Barbara Perez), Best Supporting Actress (Leni Alano) and Best Child Actress (Ana Trinidad). The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (also known as the FAMAS Awards) are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of award-winning writers and movie columnists, for achievements in Philippine cinema for a calendar year. Members of the academy including avid movie viewers, fans or enthusiasts cast their votes on who should win the statuettes in the different categories they were nominated. Ricardo Alandy Sumilang (April 9, 1939 – May 2, 2017), also known by his stage name Romeo Vasquez, was a Filipino actor and former matinee idol of Philippine cinema. Career Vasquez was discovered by director Armando Garces who saw him while playing basketball in San Juan, Metro Manila, brought him to Sampaguita Pictures. George Estregan
Jesús Jorge Ejército (; July 10, 1939 – August 8, 1988), better known as George Estregan or George Estregan Sr., was a Filipino ''mestizo'' film actor. Estregan made his film debut in 1963 with ''Jose Nazareno, ang Taxi Driver''.Villanueva, p. 243 He was often cast as a villain and was infamously known as the "Penetration King" of erotic Philippine cinema.
