08 Stockholm Human Rights
08 Stockholm Human Rights is a Swedish basketball club located in Stockholm that has a men's and women's team. The club was established in 1996 when two of the most successful basketball associations, Alvik BK (established 1956) and the South YMCA Basketball (established 1949), collaborated to form 08 Stockholm. The reason for the name of "Human Rights" is because of the club's active social commitment to using basketball as a tool to work against racism, for social inclusion and to educate their players and leaders in the club's core values. Since their inception in 1996–97, the club has been very successful with both their men's and women's teams winning the league championship in 2001. The women's team has subsequently won three national championships (2003, 2007, 2010) since then, while the men's team previously won the inaugural Swedish-Finnish league championship in 1999. Superettan (basketball)
Superettan is the second-tier league of men's professional basketball in Sweden. The league was established in 2017 and replaced the Basketettan as the second level. Köping Stars was the inaugural champion. The winners of Superettan are promoted to Basketligan. As of the 2021-22 season there will be a playoffs after the end of the regular season. Tolga Tekinalp
Tolga Tekinalp (born 28 December 1974) is a Turkish former professional basketball player who played the majority of his career in the Turkish Basketball League (TBL). He also competed multiple times for the Turkish national team during the 1990s. Career After joining the Anadolu Efes junior ranks in 1988, Tekinalp went on to join the Anadolu Efes senior team in 1990–91. He move to TED Ankara Kolejliler in 1991 and was with the club for three seasons before going on to play seven seasons for Fenerbahçe, winning championships in 1995 and 1998. A change of scenery came in 2001–02 when he joined 08 Stockholm of the Swedish Basketligan and went on to average 18 points and eight rebounds per game. Ronaldas Rutkauskas (born 3 March 1992) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player. Born in Kaunas, he started his professional career in Sweden with 08 Stockholm. Rutkauskas received the BBL Best Rebounder Award in 2015 while playing for Pärnu and was the leading scorer of the Belarus Premier League in 2012. Martin Müürsepp
Martin Müürsepp (; born 26 September 1974) is an Estonian professional basketball coach and former player, who is the head coach of BC Rakvere Tarvas of the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League. Widely regarded as one of Estonia's greatest basketball players of all time, he is the only Estonian to have played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life Müürsepp was born in Tallinn, to Hilja Volter, who worked in a barbecue restaurant, and Suido Müürsepp, a truck driver. Landry Kosmalski
Landry Kosmalski (born May 1, 1978) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is the head coach at Swarthmore. Playing career Growing up, Kosmalski studied books on the Boston Celtics under coach Red Auerbach, and was impressed that the team only used seven plays. Kosmalski attended Trinity in Euless, Texas, where he was a Texas Sports Writers Association All-State First Team honoree as a senior. Kosmalski was also named Northeast Tarrant County Co-Player of the Year alongside teammate Dylan Osean. Kosmalski averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds per game during his senior season, and he had 34 points and 26 rebounds in two playoff games. Erkan Inan
Erkan Inan (born 7 November 1989) is a Swedish-Turkish professional basketball player who last played for the Solna Vikings of the Swedish Basketligan. He has also previously played in the Turkish Basketball League and the Turkish Basketball Second League. Professional career Inan began his professional career with the Solna Vikings in 2007–08 as he averaged 0.5 points in 12 games as a rookie. Rodney Hamilton (born 1975) is an American former professional basketball player and currently the director of operations at the University of Memphis. He played four seasons of college basketball for Georgia State University before playing professionally in Europe for three seasons. His first head coaching gig came following his retirement in 2001 at Westside High School in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Jerel Romaine Blassingame (born September 12, 1981) is an American professional basketball player for AIK Basket of the Swedish second-tier Superettan. He is in height and plays at the point guard position. Kodi Jerome Augustus (born November 2, 1987) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Mississippi State. High school career Augustus originally attended Tara High School in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana before transferring to Willowridge High School in Houston, Texas for his junior season.
