Ștefan Dobay
Ștefan Dobay ( hu, Dobay István, 26 September 1909 – 7 April 1994), was a Romanian footballer who played as a striker and manager. He played for Ripensia Timișoara and the Romania national football team for whom he got 41 caps, scored 19 goals and he appeared at the 1934 and 1938 World Cups as a forward and scoring a goal in each tournament. Dumbrăvița, Timiș
Dumbrăvița ( hu, Újszentes, until 1906 ''Vadászerdő''; german: Neusentesch; formerly Uisenteș) is a commune in Timiș County, Romania. It is composed of a single village, Dumbrăvița. One of the most developed and rich communes in Romania, Dumbrăvița has become in recent years a suburb of Timișoara. Geography Dumbrăvița is located in the Timiș Plain, in the center of Timiș County, in the peri-urban area of Timișoara, to which it is attached. It borders Covaci, Cerneteaz and Giarmata to the north, Giarmata-Vii to the east and Timișoara to the south. Dumbrăvița is crossed by Behela and Niarad, two streams flowing about a kilometer away from the village. Their stream beds are poorly developed, and the streamflows are low. In association football, the manager is the person who runs a football club or a national team. They have wide-ranging responsibilities, including selecting the team, choosing the tactics, recruiting and transferring players, negotiating player contracts, and speaking to the media. Balkan Cup
The Balkan Cup was an international association football competition contested on and off from 1929 to 1980 by countries from the Balkans region. The most successful team was Romania with four titles. Overview The first edition featured Romania, Greece, Yugoslavia and Bulgaria and was played over three years from 1929 to 1931. All teams played each other twice, home and away, and were awarded 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw, with final ranking table determining the winner. Romania won the first title with a game in hand after beating Yugoslavia 4–2. In the following tournaments the system saw significant changes, with teams playing each other only once, and instead of taking three years to complete it was shortened to just a single week. From 1932 to 1936 the competition was played every year with the same four teams until the outbreak of World War II. Liga I
The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. The Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 campaign, being currently on the 29th place in UEFA's league coefficient ranking list. It is administered by the Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal, also known by the acronym LPF. Before the 2006–07 season, the competition was known as ''Divizia A'', but the name had to be changed following the finding that someone else had registered that trademark.
