Željko Jovanović (politician)
Željko Jovanović (born 26 November 1965) is a Croatian politician and physician who served as Minister of Science, Education and Sports from 2011 until 2014. He is a member of the center-left Social Democratic Party of Croatia. Early life Željko Jovanović, an ethnic Serb, was born on November 26, 1965 in Rijeka. Jovanović spent his early childhood in Grobnik, Podhum and Svilno with his parents Niko and Petra. He enrolled into elementary school after moving to Turnić. His brother Slobodan was born in this period. Jovanović's class was the only group in generation which studied Russian as the foreign language in the school. As a child, Jovanović was interested in sports and movies. He particularly liked Otpisani, Gustav and Bruce Lee. In 1978 he participated in "Šamac Sarajevo 78" youth work action. ''Otpisani'' (Serbian Cyrillic: Отписани, en, The Written Offs) is a famous Serbian TV series, that was very popular in former Yugoslavia, originally airing in 1974. Due to its popularity, Radio Television of Serbia has shown reruns of the series eleven times, the last rerun starting in 2015. Antun Vrdoljak
Antun Vrdoljak (; born 5 June 1931) is a Croatian film actor and director, sports official, and head of Croatian Radiotelevision during the Yugoslav Wars. Between the 1960s and early 1990s he was mainly a film artist. In the early 1990s he became involved in politics and became a prominent member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which led to his appointment to a series of offices. He was director general of Croatian Radiotelevision (1991–1995), and president of the Croatian Olympic Committee (1991–2000).
