Pavel Štěpán
Pavel Štěpán (28 May 1925 – 30 September 1998) was a Czechs, Czech pianist whose domain was the interpretation of piano works by Josef Suk (composer), Josef Suk, Vitezslav Novak and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's piano concertos. He has always been described as a man of unusual intelligence, great pianistic style and deep musicality. Biography Štěpán was born in Brno. His career coincided with his family's musical tradition: he was the grandson of Professor Vilém Kurz, a prominent Czech piano educator, and the son of piano virtuoso and teacher Ilona Štěpánová-Kurzová and musicologist/pianist Václav Štěpán. His family maintained close personal contacts with the composer Josef Suk (composer), Josef Suk, and actually received instructions for the interpretation of his piano output from the composer himself. Štěpán Trochta
Štěpán Trochta (; 26 March 1905, Francova Lhota – 6 April 1974, Litoměřice) was a Czech Roman Catholic cardinal in the former Czechoslovakia who served as the Bishop of Litoměřice from 1947 until his death and was a professed member from the Salesians of Don Bosco. Trochta was considered a staunch defender of ecclesial rights and privileges in Czechoslovakia which the communist regime had sought to limit and suppress; Pope Paul VI (who made Trochta a cardinal) labelled Trochta after his death as a "defender of the faith" due to his commitment in standing up for Church rights and beliefs. He was a prisoner of war during World War II and for the decades after was stopped from performing his ecclesial duties until the end of his life when he was permitted to do so. Štěpán Rak
Štěpán Rak (born 8 August 1945) is a Czech classical guitarist and composer of Ukrainian origin. He is well known for the technical innovations that he uses in his compositions. Biography Štěpán Rak was born as Štěpán Slivka in Prague to Cilja (Vasilina) Slivka (1924-1993). His mother escaped from Carpathian Ruthenia in 1941 after it was occupied by Hungary. She was imprisoned in USSR and joined Czechoslovak Army in 1944. Štěpán was adopted by Marie and Josef Rak in 1946 and his biological mother later returned to Ukraine. Rak first studied at a Fine Arts High School in Prague and continued with guitar studies at the Prague Conservatory until 1970. Later he studied composition at the Prague Academy of Arts. In 1973, his orchestral composition ''Hiroshima'' won a second prize at a Czechoslovak competition for young composers. From 1975 to 1980 he taught guitar at the Jyväskylä Conservatory in Finland. Štěpán Kodeda (5 February 1988 – 30 March 2015) was a Czech orienteering competitor, and twice junior world champion. Career Štěpán was a runner of the Swedish club IFK Mora in Dalarna from 2005 until 2010, when he changed to the Finnish club MS Parma. He achieved many good team results as the 7th place in Tiomila's Relay 2008, where he ran the first for Dalarna's team exchanging 6th among 347 runners. Starting in 2006 he also ran for Sportcentrum Jičín in the Czech Republic and since 2009 for Club Esportiu Farra-O in Spain. Josef Antonín Štěpán or Joseph Anton Steffan ( – ) was a Bohemian-Austrian classical era composer and harpsichordist. Steffan was born in Kopidlno, near Hradec Králové, Bohemia in March 1726, the son of a schoolmaster and church organist. He received his first musical lessons from his father.
