''Š Nuoraidmagasiidna'' (''Š Youth Magazine''), typically referred to simply as ''Š'', is a Sámi quarterly magazine focused on music, movies, sports, and youth culture. Founded in 1993, it is published by Iđut AS in , Norway, and, as of 2020, its editor is Niels Ovllá Oskal Dunfjell. ''Š'' is primarily written in Northern Sámi, but it also includes articles in Southern Sámi, Lule Sámi, and Norwegian. It is distributed for free to eighth-grade students across Norway, as well as to students studying Sámi languages. Sámi People
The Sámi ( ; also spelled Sami or Saami) are the traditionally Sámi languages, Sámi-speaking indigenous people inhabiting the region of Sápmi, which today encompasses large northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland, and of the Kola Peninsula in Russia. Iđut AS is a Norwegian publisher of books and music, based in Ikkaldas in Porsanger Municipality, Finnmark county, Norway. The company publishes novels, children's books, text books and school books, general literature, music and films. It also has publishes a bimonthly youth-culture magazine, '' Š'', which is edited by Máret Ánne Sara. Lule Sami Language
Lule Sámi (, , ) is a Uralic- Sámi language spoken around the Lule River in Sweden and in the northern parts of Nordland county in Norway. In Norway it is especially seen in Hamarøy Municipality (formerly Tysfjord Municipality), where Lule Sámi is one of the official languages. It is written in the Latin script, having an official alphabet. History The language was originally only spoken around the Lule River, in Sweden. During the 18th century some Sámi migrated to Nordland in Norway, and their descendants still live in Norway, and speak Lule Sámi.
