Åžirinyer Railway Station
Şirinyer station ( tr, Şirinyer İstasyonu) is an underground railway station on the Southern Line of the İZBAN commuter rail system. The current station was built between 2006–09 and opened on 30 August 2010. The former station was opened in 1858 by the Ottoman Railway Company and was taken over by the Turkish State Railways in 1935. Before the 1950s, Şirinyer was known as ''Kızılçullu Durağı''. The proposed Üçyol—Çamlıkule Line of the İzmir Metro will have an underground station at Şirinyer. Construction of the station is expected to begin in 2018 and enter operation in 2022. İZBAN, previously known as Egeray, is a commuter rail system serving İzmir and its metropolitan area, mainly on a north–south axis, via two lines: The Northern Line (IZBAN), Northern Line and the Southern Line (IZBAN), Southern Line. Averaging a daily ridership of 185,000 passengers, it is the busiest commuter rail system in Turkey, slightly ahead of the Marmaray commuter line in Istanbul. Ottoman Railway Company
The Ottoman Railway Company, commonly referred to as the İzmir–Aydın Railway ( tr, İzmir-Aydın Demiryolu), is the oldest railway in Anatolia and second oldest railway in the Ottoman Empire. The railway was built by a British company to transport mineral and fruit (primarily figs) from the Aydın plain to the Port of İzmir to be exported. The railway also played an important role in operating commuter rail service throughout southern İzmir. By 1912 the railway was operating 3 commuter routes within the city. Ä°zmir Metro ( tr, Ä°zmir Metrosu) is a metro system in Ä°zmir, Turkey that is in the process of being extended with new stations being put in service. Åžirinyer (Ä°zmir Metro)
Şirinyer is a proposed underground station on the Üçyol—Çamlıkule Line of the İzmir Metro. It will be located beneath Mehmet Akif Avenue, next to the Şirinyer railway station, in western Buca.
