Łzy
Łzy (pronounced ; Polish for "Tears") are a Polish pop rock band formed in 1996, best known for their early 2000s hits "Agnieszka już dawno...", "Narcyz się nazywam", "Jestem jaka jestem" and "Oczy szeroko zamknięte", among others. The group has released one gold and three platinum certified albums in Poland. Up until 2010, the band's lead vocalist was Anna Wyszkoni who continued a successful solo career. Łzy are known for their sad, melancholic lyrics, exploring loneliness, unhappy love and heartbreak, occasionally touching on controversial subjects, such as suicide, rape, abortion, euthanasia and drugs. Anna Wyszkoni (born 21 July 1980 in Tworków, Poland) is a Polish pop rock singer, composer and songwriter, also performing under the diminutive Ania Wyszkoni. Between 1996 and 2010, she was the lead singer in a popular Polish pop rock band Łzy, with whom she released six albums, four of which gold- or platinum-certified, and had multiple hits, such as "Agnieszka już dawno...", "Narcyz się nazywam", "Jestem jaka jestem" and "Oczy szeroko zamknięte", among others. Wyszkoni embarked on a solo career in 2008 and went on to release four albums, two double platinum and one gold. Metal Mind Productions (MMP) is a Polish record label founded in 1987. The label focuses on rock and heavy metal. MMP is also publisher of ''Metal Hammer'', the largest and the oldest heavy metal magazine. As a concert agency, it organises Metalmania, the largest heavy metal event in Central–Eastern Europe, and it organised over 1000 concerts, including Monsters of Rock in Poland, 1991. Metal Mind Productions over the years became the subject of criticism from such bands as Malevolent Creation, Enter Chaos, Behemoth and Moonlight among others, for releasing unauthorized records and lack of professionalism. Poland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Love Song" written by Tatiana Okupnik and Paweł Rurak-Sokal. The song was performed by the band Blue Café. The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) organised the national final ''Krajowe Eliminacje do Konkursu Piosenki Eurowizji 2004'' in order to select the Polish entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey. The national final took place on 24 January 2004 and featured fifteen entries. "Love Song" performed by Blue Café was selected as the winner after gaining 17.76% of the public vote.
