Đà River
The Black River, (, from the Tai language ''Da'' meaning "dark-brown") also known upstream as the Lixian River () in China, is a river located in China and Northwest (Vietnam), northwestern Vietnam. Course Its source is in Yunnan province of China. From China, the river's course passes through the Vietnamese provinces of Lai Châu province, Lai Châu (where it forms part of the border with Điện Biên province), Sơn La province, Sơn La and Hòa Bình province, Hòa Bình. The Black River is the most important tributary of the Red River (Asia), Red River, which it joins in Tam Nông district, Phú Thọ, Tam Nông district near Việt Trì in Phú Thọ province. It also forms part of the border between Phú Thọ province and Hanoi (previously the border with Hà Tây province). Mường Tè is a rural district of Lai Châu province in the Northwest region of Vietnam. As of 2019, the district had a population of 46,143. The district covers an area of 2,679.34 km². Lai Châu Dam
The Lai Châu Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Black River inaugurated on 20 December 2016 in Nậm Nhùn District, Lai Châu Province, Vietnam. The owner of the power station is Vietnam Electricity. The dam was designed by Hydroproject, a Russian hydrotechnical design firm, in collaboration with the Vietnamese company Power Construction No.1 JSC. The ground clearance works and relocation of people was completed by September 2010. Construction started on 5 January 2011; it was expected to be operational by 2017 with the first turbine put into operation in 2016, but the plant was inaugurated on 20 December 2016, one year ahead of the schedule, in a ceremony attended by the Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng and other important personalities. Sơn La Dam
Sơn La Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Black River in Ít Ong, Mường La District, Sơn La Province, Vietnam. It is the largest hydroelectric power station in Southeast Asia. History The project was proposed in the 1970s. Several studies were carried out, including by the Moscow Institute of Hydroelectric and Industry, Electricity and Power Distribution Company (Japan), Designing Research and Production Shareholding Company (Moscow) and SWECO (Sweden). Hòa Bình Dam
The Hòa Bình Dam on the Black River () is the largest hydroelectric dam in Vietnam from 1994 to 2012 (this record was broken by Sơn La Dam), and one of the largest in Southeast Asia, with a generating capacity of .
