ﾄ経banija Mosque ( bs, Dﾅｾamija ﾄ経banija) was constructed in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, before 1565. The building is quite spacious, with a fine stone minaret. Set into the walls around the minaret is a poem in Turkish. There is a cemetery adjacent to the mosque, which some believe is the final resting place of the benefactor, ﾄ経ban-Hasan. Islam is the most widespread religion in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was introduced to the local population in the 15th and 16th centuries as a result of the Ottoman conquest of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Muslims comprise the single largest religious community in Bosnia and Herzegovina (51%) (the other two large groups being Eastern Orthodox Christians (31%), almost all of whom identify as Serbs, and Roman Catholics (15%), almost all of whom identify as Croats. Centar, Sarajevo
Centar (Cyrillic: ﾐｦﾐｵﾐｽﾑひｰﾑ, lit. 窶戮enter") is a municipality of the city of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located between the older parts of the city under Stari Grad, and the newer more modern parts of the city under the municipalities Novi Grad and Novo Sarajevo.
