Üsküdar Belediyespor ( tr, Üsküdar Belediyesi Spor Kulübü) is a multi-sports club established 1984 in Istanbul, Turkey by the municipality of Üsküdar district ( tr, Üsküdar Belediyesi). Üsküdar Belediyespor's main activities are in athletics and combat sports as boxing, handball, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo and wrestling. The handball team plays its home matches at the Bağlarbaşı Sports Hall in Üsküdar. Aslı Çakır Alptekin
Aslı Çakır Alptekin (born 20 August 1985 in Antalya) is a former Turkish female middle-distance runner. A member of the Üsküdar Belediyespor in Istanbul, she is coached by her husband, runner Ihsan Alptekin. She was banned for life for repeated doping offenses. Athletics career She is tall and . Alptekin won the gold medal in the 1500 m at the 2011 Summer Universiade held in Shenzhen, China. She also won the bronze medal in the 1500 m event at the 2012 World Indoor Championships held in Istanbul. Both of these titles were later stripped off her upon failed doping tests. Türkan Erişmiş (born 5 January 1984 in Ağrı, Turkey), aka Türkan Bozkurt, Türkan Bozkurt Erişmiş or Türkan Özata-Erişmiş, is a Turkish female middle distance runner competing mostly in the 3000 m steeplechase and cross country running events. The tall athlete at graduated from Niğde University, and works now as a teacher of physical education. In 1996, at the age of twelve, she moved to Ankara leaving her parents in Ağrı. She was discovered and recommended to coach Ali Çelik in Ankara by a former athlete Sermet Timurlenk in her hometown. She was a member of Kasımpaşaspor in Istanbul before she transferred to Üsküdar Belediyespor. Currently, she is running for Beşiktaş J.K. Athletics Team. The 3000 metres or 3000-metre run is a track running event, also commonly known as the "3K" or "3K run", where 7.5 laps are run around an outdoor 400 m track, or 15 laps around a 200 m indoor track. It is debated whether the 3000m should be classified as a middle-distance or long-distance event. Alemitu Bekele (''Alemitu Bekele Degfa;'' born 17 September 1977) is an Ethiopian-born Turkish long-distance runner, who specialized in the 5000 metres. Bekele was born in Shoa, Ethiopia. In the 5000 metres she finished seventh at the 2008 Olympic Games. In the 3000 metres she won the gold medal at the 2009 European Indoor Championships, and also competed at the 2008 World Indoor Championships, without reaching the final round.
