Øyvind Vennerød (22 July 1919 – 27 September 1991) was a Norwegian film director and producer. He was born in Oslo, Kristiania, and was the father of Petter Vennerød. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of 1,064,235 in 2022, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age, the area was part of Viken. Oslo was founded as a city at the end of the Viking Age in 1040 under the name Ánslo, and established as a ''kaupstad'' or trading place in 1048 by Harald Hardrada. The city was elevated to a bishopric in 1070 and a capital under Haakon V of Norway around the year 1300. Personal unions with Denmark from 1397 to 1523 and again from 1536 to 1814 reduced its influence. Petter Vennerød (25 September 1948 – 19 September 2021 ) was a Norwegian film director, known for his cooperation with Svend Wam, creating fourteen films under the moniker ''Wam og Vennerød''. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' (, abbreviated ''SNL'') is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. It has several subdivisions, including the Norsk biografisk leksikon. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with up to 3.5 million unique visitors per month. Paper editions (1978–2007) The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. is the largest Norwegian biographical encyclopedia. It is part of the '' Great Norwegian Encyclopedia''. Origin The first print edition (NBL1) was issued between 1923 and 1983; it included 19 volumes and 5,100 articles. Kunnskapsforlaget took over the rights to NBL1 from Aschehoug in 1995, and work began on a second print edition (NBL2) in 1998. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957. His paper ''Omkring Bǫglungasǫgur'', on the Bagler sagas, was printed in 1959. In December 1957 he married Karen Blauuw, who would later become a professor. ''Støv på hjernen'' is a 1959 Norwegian comedy film directed by Øyvind Vennerød and starring Inger Marie Andersen and Odd Borg. It was based on a novel by Eva Ramm, and shot on location in Lambertseter. The film's title translates into "''dust on the brain''" and the story centers around the busybody housewives of a modern Norwegian working-class neighbourhood of the 1950s. It became an immediate smash hit, was seen by 1.5 million people in Norwegian cinemas, making it one of the most successful Norwegian movies in history (the population of Norway at the time was under 4 million). ''Sønner av Norge'' (Sons of Norway) is a Norway, Norwegian comedy film from 1961 directed by Øyvind Vennerød. The script was written by Jørn Ording and Vennerød. Among others, Inger Marie Andersen, Odd Borg, Turid Balke, Arne Bang-Hansen, and Willie Hoel appear in the roles of the residents of Solbråten. ''Himmel og helvete'' (Heaven and Hell) is a 1969 Norwegian propaganda film about illegal drugs. It was directed by Øyvind Vennerød with a screenplay by Vennerød and Victor Borg. The film was poorly received by the critics, but it nonetheless became one of the highest-grossing theater films in Norway in 1969. Lillebjørn Nilsen and Sigrid Huun played the main characters Arne and Eva. The leading actor, Lillebjørn Nilsen, later apologized and publicly distanced himself from the movie. Plot The film's action takes place in Oslo. It begins with a housewife coming home and finding her daughter Ingrid half-dead from using unspecified illegal drugs.
