Ørnulf Dahl
Ragnvald Ørnulf Rolsdorph Dahl (15 February 1900 – 8 December 1971) was a Norwegian military officer. He was born in Hamar, and was a brother of Arne Dagfin Dahl. He served at the Norwegian Legation in Finland in 1940, at the Norwegian Legation in Stockholm from 1940 to 1944, and at the Norwegian High Command in London from 1944 to 1945. As Colonel he headed Brigade 481 of the Independent Norwegian Brigade Group in Germany in 1948. He was promoted Major General in 1955, and head of the 1st Division. From 1956 Commander of the Allied Landforces Norway. From 1961 to 1968 he was commander of Akershus Fortress. Hamar is a List of cities in Norway, town in Hamar Municipality in Innlandet Counties of Norway, county, Norway. Hamar is the administrative centre of Hamar Municipality. Hans Fredrik Dahl (born 16 October 1939) is a Norwegian historian, journalist and media scholar, best known in the English-speaking world for his biography of Vidkun Quisling, a Nazi collaborationist and Minister President for Norway during the Second World War. His research is focused on media history, the totalitarian ideologies of the 20th century, and the Second World War. He served as culture editor of ''Dagbladet'' 1978–1985 and has been a board member of the paper since 1996. He was a professor at the University of Oslo 1988–2009, and is now a professor emeritus. Øystein Sørensen
Øystein Sørensen (born 17 October 1954) is a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Oslo since 1996, he has published several books on the history of ideas, including Norwegian nationalism and national socialism, as well as general Norwegian World War II history. Born at Strømmen, he took the cand.philol. degree in 1981. His main inspiration for studying history was Jens Arup Seip and his inclination towards incorporating the history of ideas in general history. Guri Hjeltnes (born 23 October 1953) is a Norwegian journalist and historian. Having mainly researched Norwegian World War II history during her career, she is a professor of journalism at the BI Norwegian Business School since 2004. She has also spent considerable time as a journalist and commentator, currently in ''Verdens Gang''. She became director of the Center for Studies of the Holocaust and Religious Minorities in 2012. Arne Dagfin Dahl
Arne Dagfin Dahl (24 May 1894 – 26 October 1990) was a Norwegian military officer most renowned as the commander of the Alta Battalion during the fighting at Narvik in Northern Norway in 1940. Early and personal life Born in Kristiania on 24 May 1894, Arne Dagfin Dahl was the son of postmaster Ragnvald Dahl and Anna Othilie Stablum. He was brother of fellow army officer Ørnulf Dahl. He took his examen artium in 1912, graduated from business school in 1919 and entered law studies at the Royal Frederick University in 1921. In 1924, he dropped out of university, to become director of the Norwegian Automobile Federation. Dahl had gained an international pilot licence in 1918. On 17 September 1921, Dahl married Kristiania-born Astri Thinn Christophersen (b. 12 July 1901). By 1930, the couple had three daughters.
