The Austrian Film Award (), is the annual national film award of Austria, first given out in 2011. It is voted on by members of the Austrian Film Academy (), which was founded in 2009 and consists of distinguished professionals from the Austrian film industry. The trophy was designed by media artist Valie Export. The 2020 edition saw the drama ''Joy'' winning four awards, including the top prize for Best Fiction Film. Valerie Pachner (born 26 June 1987) is an Austrian actress. Life and work Valerie Pachner grew up in Bad Schallerbach, Austria, and studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 2009 to 2013. She was then part of the ensemble cast at the Residenztheater in Munich, under artistic director Martin Kušej until 2017. Her work on stage was awarded twice in 2016. Pachner starred as the female lead in the 2015 film ''Bad Luck (2015), Bad Luck'' (directed by Thomas Woschitz), which was nominated for the Max-Ophüls-Preis. ''Goodnight Mommy'' (; UK: ''Goodnight Mummy'') is a 2014 Austrian psychological horror film, written and directed by Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala. The film stars Susanne Wuest and twin actors Elias and Lukas Schwarz, and follows the complex relationship between twin boys and their newly returned-from-the-hospital mother in a large isolated house. The boys begin to question the woman's identity, believing that she is not the same person as the one who went to surgery, and therefore wondering if she is their real mother. The German Film Award (), also known as Lola after its prize statuette, is the national film award of Germany. It is presented at an annual ceremony honouring cinematic achievements in the Cinema of Germany, German film industry.
