Ómar Ingi Magnússon
Ómar Ingi Magnússon (born 12 March 1997) is an Icelandic handball player for SC Magdeburg and the Icelandic national handball team. In both 2021 and 2022, he was named the Icelandic Sportsperson of the Year. Club career In summer 2014 he switched over to Valur where he was supposed to be a part of the youth setup. He soon started to break through to the first team and earned a squad role, at age 17. He played there until 2016 when he transferred to the Danish club Aarhus Håndbold after an impressive season in Iceland where he was chosen young player of the year. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season in Denmark he transferred to league rivals Aalborg Håndbold, joining fellow nationals Janus Daði Smárason, Arnór Atlason and coach Aron Kristjánsson. With Aalborg he won the Danish Cup competition in 2018 and the Danish championship in 2019 and 2020. For the 2020/21 season he moved to the German Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg. Selfoss () is a town in southern Iceland on the banks of the Ölfusá river. It is the seat of the municipality of Árborg. The Danish Men's Handball League, formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen is the men's top Denmark, Danish professional Team handball, handball league. The winners of the Danish Men's Handball League are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are GOG Håndbold. Season The Danish Men's Handball League season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. 2017 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2017 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 25th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. The event was held in France from 11 to 29 January 2017. France, in a clean sweep, defended their title by defeating Norway 33–26 in the final, which secured France their sixth title. Slovenia defeated Croatia 31–30 to capture the bronze medal. 2022 IHF Men's Super Globe
‌The 2022 IHF Men's Super Globe was the 16th edition of the yearly club world championship in handball, held from 18 to 23 October 2022 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia under the aegis of the International Handball Federation (IHF). It was the third time in history that the event was organised by the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation. SC Magdeburg defeated Barcelona in the final to defend their title.
