Etienne De Beule (20 November 1953 – 10 June 2023) was a Belgian professional racing cyclist. He rode in the 1985 Tour de France. He was the father of football player Davy De Beule. Hamme () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the settlements of Hamme proper, Kastel Moerzeke, and . In 2018, Hamme had a total population of 24,827. The total area is 40.21 km². The current mayor of Hamme is Herman Vijt, from the CD&V (Christian Democratic) party. Folklore Hamme also has its own legends, most famously that of the " Hamse Wuiten". The people of Hamme are also called ''Hamse Wuitens''. The "Hamse wuiten" is also the main mascot in a street parade at the end of March every year. The inhabitants dress up and build big trucks with giant puppets, making fun of local and national politicians and scandals. 1985 Tour De France
The 1985 Tour de France was the 72nd edition of the Tour de France, one of Cycle sport, cycling's Grand Tour (cycling), Grand Tours. It took place between 28 June and 21 July. The course ran over and consisted of a individual time trial, prologue and 22 stages. The race was won by Bernard Hinault (riding for the team), who equalled the record by Jacques Anquetil and Eddy Merckx of five overall victories. Second was Hinault's teammate Greg LeMond, ahead of Stephen Roche (). Hinault won the race leader's yellow jersey on the first day, in the opening prologue time trial, but lost the lead to Eric Vanderaerden () after stage 1 because of time bonuses. Davy De Beule
Davy De Beule (born 7 November 1981) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a right midfielder. Career De Beule was born in Hamme as the son of the cyclist Étienne De Beule. He signed at Hamme at the age of 6 and moved to Lokeren in 1992. Six years later, he entered the first team squad of the club. He played a total of 128 games for Lokeren. In the 2002–03 season, he played a fundamental role in the club's achievement of third place in the national championship, and was named Belgian Young Professional Footballer of the Year. He stayed at Lokeren until 2004, when he moved to Gent. With Gent he reached the final of the 2007–08 Belgian Cup, also placing fourth in the national championship in 2006 and 2007.
