Élisabeth Garouste
Élisabeth Garouste (born 17 July 1946) is a French interior designer. The daughter of Russian immigrants Salomon and Blima Rochline, she was born Élisabeth Catherine Rochline in Paris, was educated at the and studied interior design at the École Camondo. In 1970, she married painter Gérard Garouste. Garouste designed theatre sets for Jean-Michel Ribes. She later went on to work with Mattia Bonetti to design furniture; their designs have appeared in museums including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the and the Guggenheim Museum, They were awarded the Prix Créateurs at the Salon International du Meuble in Paris. Gérard Garouste
Gérard Garouste (born 10 March 1946) is a French contemporary artist having the primary field of work as visual and performative domain. Since 1979, he has lived and worked in Marcilly-sur-Eure in Normandy, where he founded an educational and social action group to help children with art called La Source. He has been married to designer Élisabeth Garouste since 1969. Biography Gérard Garouste was born in Paris. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris from 1965 to 1972 in the atelier of Gustave Singier. It was there he discovered Duchamp. Jean-Michel Ribes (born 15 December 1946, in Paris) is a French playwright, screenwriter, theatre director, film maker and actor. Since 2002 he has been the managing director of the Théâtre du Rond-Point. Between 1982 and 1984 Ribes had directed ''Merci Bernard'' and since 1988 works on ''Palace''. In 2008, Ribes had directed ''Batailles'' which he co-wrote with Roland Topor and next year became a director of the ''Un garçon impossible'', a play by Petter S. Rosenlund and 's ''Les Diablogues''. Mattia Bonetti
Mattia Bonetti (born 1952) is a Paris-based artist and designer. Bonetti was born in Lugano, Switzerland, and studied textile design at the Centro Scolastico per l’Industria Artistica. Bonetti moved from Switzerland to Paris, where he now lives and works. Prior to designing furniture, Bonetti worked as a stylist and photographer. In 1979 he began designing furniture. All of his work begins as a freehand sketch which is then fabricated. Bonetti has worked with the same fabricators for decades, employing craftsmen to make transform his drawings. Nina Ricci (born Maria Nielli; 1883 – 1970) was an Italian-born French fashion designer. She was born in Turin, Italy, and moved to France at the age of 12.
