Çukurova basketbol Mersin (ÇBK Mersin), for sponsorship reasons Çimsa ÇBK Mersin, is a Turkish professional women's basketball club based in Mersin, Türkiye. The club was founded in 2015 and currently competing in the Women's Basketball Super League. History The club was founded in 2015 under the name Cukurova Basketbol Mersin. In 2020 the team was rebranded to CBK Mersin. The club joined the KSBL for the 2017/2018 season. Grine had left the league prior to the beginning of the 2017 season. After competing in the play-off semi finals in their first season, the club played in the play-off finals against Fenerbahçe in the 2018–19 season. The club lost to Fenerbahçe in the finals, but qualified to compete in EuroLeague Women in the 2019–20 season. On January 22, 2020, a partnership was established with the Yenişehir Municipality, and the club's name was changed to ÇBK Mersin Yenişehir Belediyesi. Şaziye İvegin (born 8 February 1982) is a Turkish retired professional basketball player. A basketball player’s daughter, İvegin started basketball in 7th school class on the same day together with her two younger sisters. The three sisters played in the Adana-based club Botaşspor and won twice the Turkish Girls’ Basketball League championship title. At her age of 22, she became the youngest women's basketball team captain in the country. After 10 successful years with Botaş, İvegin transferred to Fenerbahçe on May 7, 2004. LaToya Antoinette Sanders (née Pringle; born September 11, 1986), also known as Lara Sanders in Turkey, is an American-Turkish professional basketball coach and former player. She currently serves as an assistant coach for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Sanders played college basketball at the University of North Carolina before getting drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2008 WNBA draft. The 2022 Turkish Women's Basketball Cup () was the 29th edition of Turkey's top-tier level professional women's domestic basketball cup competition. The tournament was held between 22 and 26 March 2022 at the Servet Tazegül Spor Salonu in Mersin.
