Ã…rslev Municipality
Årslev municipality ( da, Årslev Kommune) is a former municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the island of Funen in central Denmark. It merged into Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality on 1 January 2007. The former municipality covered an area of , and had a total population of 9,365 (2005). It belonged to Funen County and its last mayor was Hans Jørgensen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Årslev. Neighboring municipalities were Ullerslev and Langeskov to the east, Odense to the north, Broby to the west, and Ringe and Ørbæk to the south. Årslev municipality ceased to exist on 1 January 2007 as a result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007) in which it merged with Broby, Faaborg, Ringe, and Ryslinge municipalities, forming a new Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality. The Region of Southern Denmark ( da, Region Syddanmark, ; german: Region Süddänemark, ; frr, Regiuun Syddanmark) is an administrative Regions of Denmark, region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties of Denmark, counties ("amter") and set up five larger regions. Ryslinge Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Ryslinge municipality was a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Funen County on the island of Funen in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 82 km2, and had a total population of 6,924 (2005). Its last mayor was Gunnar Landtved, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Ryslinge. Ørbæk Municipality
Until January 1, 2007 Ørbæk Municipality was a municipality (Danish: '' kommune'') in the former Funen County, on the east coast of the island of Funen, in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 138.34 km2, and had a total population of 6,916 (2006). Its last mayor was Kaf Refslund, a member of the Venstre party. Funen
Funen ( da, Fyn, ), with an area of , is the third-largest island of Denmark, after Zealand and Vendsyssel-Thy. It is the 165th-largest island in the world.
