Ã…ke Andersson (ice Hockey)
Ã…ke Gustav "Plutten" Andersson (8 June 1918 – 11 May 1982) was a Swedish ice hockey, football and bandy player and manager, known for representing Hammarby IF in all three sports. He represented his country at two Winter Olympic games, finishing fourth in 1948 and winning a bronze medal in 1952. He was the captain of the Swedish national team from 1945 until his retirement in 1954. Early life Andersson grew up in a working-class home in a southern part of Stockholm known as Södermalm. His father was working as a groundskeeper at Hammarby Idrottsplats, the home of local club Hammarby IF which he joined at age 14. Athletic career Ice hockey In 1934, Andersson started to play hockey with Hammarby IF in Elitserien, Sweden's top tier. Rune Johansson
Rune Arnold Georg Johansson (23 August 1920 – 30 December 1998) was a Swedish ice hockey player, best known for representing Hammarby IF. He played 103 international games for Sweden and won the 1953 World Championships, as well as competing in the 1948 and 1952 Winter Olympics. Club career Born and raised in Stockholm, Johansson started to play ice hockey with local clubs BK Nordia and IK Sture as a youngster. In 1940, he made his debut in the senior roster of AIK IF, competing in Svenska Serien. He played five seasons with the club in the domestic top division. In 1945, Johansson joined rivals Hammarby IF. Known as a physical and reliable stay-at-home defenceman, he formed a strong defensive pairing with club legend Åke Andersson for several seasons. The Swedish ice hockey champions ( sv, Svenska mästare i ishockey) is a title awarded annually to the winning playoff team of the top-tier ice hockey league in Sweden, which currently is the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) since 1975. It was first awarded to IK Göta in 1922, the championship's inaugural year. The championship's present SHL format did not take into effect until the league was originally formed for the 1975–76 season under the name of Elitserien. A team who wins the Swedish Championship is awarded the Le Mat Trophy. Hammarby IF Hockey (1921-2008)
Hammarby IF Ishockeyförening (''"Hammarby IF Ice Hockey Club"'', or simply Hammarby Hockey) is an ice hockey club founded as "Bajen Fans IF" in 2008 by supporters of the previous incarnation of Hammarby Hockey which went bankrupt that same year. The club plays in Hockeytvåan, the fourth tier of Swedish men's ice hockey, since the 2021–22 season. In its first five seasons, the club was promoted three times. Prior to the 2013–14 season, the club had failed only once to achieve promotion to a higher league in the Swedish ice hockey system when it was available, as league restructuring prior to the 2010–11 season prevented their immediate rise to Division 2 for that season. The men's ice hockey tournament at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Norway, was the seventh Olympic Championship, also serving as the 19th World Championships and the 30th European Championships.
