Ángel Arteaga (referee)
Ángel Arteaga de la Guía (Campo de Criptana, Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha, 28 January 1928 – Madrid, 17 January 1984) was a Spanish musician and composer. Biography Arteaga was born in Campo de Criptana, (Ciudad Real), and his musical initiation took place in the Beethoven Philharmonic Band in his hometown. In 1950, he entered the Madrid Royal Conservatory where he studied harmony, fugue, and composition with the professors Vitorino Echevarría, Francisco Calés Pina, and Julio Gómez García. Between 1957 and 1963 he studied at the Staatliche Hoschshule für Musik in Munich with Carl Orff and Harald Genzmer, a disciple of Hindemith. At the same time, he completed three summer courses at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (Italy) in composition and film music. In Germany he married Waltraud Pizenbauer. Campo de Criptana is a municipality and town in the province of Ciudad Real in the autonomous community of Castilla–La Mancha (Spain). It is found in the region known as La Mancha. History Historical development The area surrounding Campo de Criptana has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Prehistoric implements of hunting, gathering, and agriculture have been found in various locations, as have ceramics, particularly from the Bronze Age. Gerardo Diego Cendoya (October 3, 1896 – July 8, 1987) was a Spanish poet, a member of the Generation of '27. Diego taught language and literature at institutes of learning in Soria, Gijón, Santander and Madrid. He also acted as literary and music critic for several newspapers. Biography Diego was born in Santander. He studied the subjects of Philosophy & Humanities at the University of Deusto, and later at the universities of Salamanca and Madrid, where he earned his doctorate. Ramón Gómez de la Serna y Puig (3 July 1888 in Madrid – 13 January 1963 in Buenos Aires) was a Spanish writer, dramatist and avant-garde agitator. He strongly influenced surrealist film maker Luis Buñuel. Ramón Gómez de la Serna was especially known for " Greguería", a short form of poetry that roughly corresponds to the one-liner in comedy.
