"I Know There's Something Going On" is a song by the Swedish singer and ABBA member Anni-Frid "Frida" Lyngstad, released on 6 August 1982 as her debut English-language single. It was the lead single to her third studio album and her first in the English language, ''Something's Going On'' (1982). It was penned by Russ Ballard and produced by Phil Collins. Being released shortly before ABBA's hiatus, "I Know There's Something Going On" proved to be a major hit for Frida, peaking atop the music charts of Belgium and Switzerland and made the top ten in multiple European countries and Australia. Uniquely, it also became a somewhat large American hit, stalling out at number 13 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking higher than many of ABBA's own singles on the chart. Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad (born 15 November 1945), also known simply as Frida, is a Swedish singer who is best known as one of the founding members and lead singers of the pop band ABBA. Courtesy titles ''Principality of Reuss-Gera, Princess Reuss'' and ''Countess of Plauen'' are also in use because of her third marriage. Born in Bjørkåsen (in Ballangen Municipality), Norway, to a Norwegian mother and a German father, she grew up in Torshälla, Sweden, and started her first solo career there, as a jazz singer in 1967, through a talent competition called ''New Faces''. Daryl Mark Stuermer (born November 27, 1952) is an American musician, songwriter, singer, and record producer best known for playing the guitar and bass for Genesis during live shows, and lead guitar for Phil Collins during most solo tours and albums. He has also released nine solo albums, and tours with his Daryl Stuermer Band. Early life Stuermer was born on November 27, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
