Tokharistan (also spelled Tocharistan or Tukharistan; Classical Persian: Tukhāristān or Ṭukhāristān; lit.'land of the Tochari') is a historical name used by Islamic sources in the early Middle Ages to refer to the area which was known as Bactria in Ancient Greek sources.
