Hermosillo (Latin American Spanish: [eɾmoˈsiʝo] ), formerly called Pitic (as in Santísima Trinidad del Pitic and Presidio del Pitic), is the capital and largest city of the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora, and the municipal seat of the municipality of Hermosillo.
