Diosgenin

Diosgenin, a phytosteroidsapogenin, is the product of hydrolysis by acids, strong bases, or enzymes of saponins, extracted from the tubers of Dioscoreawild yam species, such as the Kokoro. It is also present in smaller amounts in a number of other species.
