Conquistadors (, also , UK also ) or conquistadores (Spanish:; Portuguese:; lit.'conquerors') were Spanish and Portuguese colonists who explored, traded with, and conquered many parts of the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Oceania during the Age of Discovery.
