Valanchery

Valanchery is a municipal town in Tirur Taluk, Malappuram district, Kerala, India. It is located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) southeast of Karipur International Airport and 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of the district headquarters, and forms a part of Malappuram metropolitan area. National Highway 66, from to Panvel to Kanyakumari, passes through Valanchery. During British Raj, Valanchery was included in the Ponnani Taluk of the erstwhile Malabar District.
