Syngnathidae

The Syngnathidae is a family of fish which includes seahorses, pipefishes, and seadragons (Phycodurus and Phyllopteryx). The family name comes from Ancient Greek (sún), meaning "together", and (gnáthos), meaning "jaw", referring to the fused jaw that the entire family have in common.
