Stanitsa

A stanitsa or stanitza ( ; Russian: станица), also spelled stanytsia (Ukrainian: станиця) or stanitsa (Belarusian: станіца), was a historical administrative unit of a Cossack host, a type of Cossack polity that existed in the Russian Empire.
