Linebreeding
Linebreeding is a form of inbreeding in which an animal is bred to its descendants, or, further down the line, when the animals being bred together are not closely related but share a common ancestor. Often this animal is a male that was mated to multiple females, due to the length of gestation. This method can be used to increase a particular animal's contribution to the gene pool and preserve healthy and desirable traits in the population.
