Kalpetta

Kalpetta is a municipality, taluk and headquarters of the Wayanad district in the Indian state of Kerala. Kalpetta serves as the headquarters of Vythiri taluk. It is surrounded by dense coffee and tea plantations and mountains. It lies on the Kozhikode-MysoreNational HighwayNH 766 (formerly NH 212) at an altitude of about 780 m above sea level. Kalpetta is located 72 km (45 mi) northeast of Kozhikode and 140 km (87 mi) southeast of Mysore.
