False holograms
Virtually every illusion of an image that looks three-dimensional, seems to be floating in space, or features other vague resemblances, has erroneously been labelled a hologram, including effects produced by lenticular printing, iridescent foil printing, bubblegrams, the Pepper's ghost illusion (or modern variants such as the Musion Eyeliner), tomography and volumetric displays. Such illusions have been called "fauxlography".
