Geckos ( ) are small, mostly carnivorous lizards that have a wide distribution, found on every continent except Antarctica. Belonging to the suborderGekkota, geckos are found in warm climates. They range from 1.6 to 67 centimetres (0.6 to 26.4 inches) in length. They are the most species-rich group of lizards, with nearly 2,000 different species of geckos existing.
