Chromoplast

Chromoplasts are plastids, heterogeneousorganelles responsible for pigment synthesis and storage in specific photosyntheticeukaryotes. It is thought (according to symbiogenesis) that like all other plastids including chloroplasts and leucoplasts they are descended from symbioticprokaryotes.
