Influence of the Septuagint

The large majority of Old Testament references in the New Testament are taken from the Koine GreekSeptuagint (LXX), editions of which include the deuterocanonical books, as well as apocrypha – both of which are called collectively anagignoskomena ("readable, worthy of reading"). No two Septuagint codices contain the same apocrypha.
