A dinghy is a type of small boat, often carried or towed by a larger vessel for use as a tender. Utility dinghies are usually rowboats or have an outboard motor. Some are rigged for sailing but they differ from sailing dinghies, which are designed first and foremost for sailing. A dinghy's main use is for transfers from larger boats, especially when the larger boat cannot dock at a suitably-sized port or marina.

Outboard motorOutboard motorAn outboard motor is a propulsion system for boats, consisting of a self-contained unit that includes engine, gearbox and propeller or jet drive, designed to be affixed to the outside of the transom. They are the most common motorised method of propelling small watercraft. As well as providing propulsion, outboards provide steering control, as they are designed to pivot over their mountings and thus control the direction of thrust.Dinghy sailingDinghy sailingDinghy sailing is the activity of sailing small boats—usually for recreational purposes, learning necessary sailing skills (often also within family), and competition.YachtYachtA yacht () is a sail- or motor-propelled watercraft made for pleasure, cruising, or racing. There is no standard definition, though the term generally applies to vessels with a cabin intended for overnight use. The Commercial Yacht Code classifies yachts 79 ft (24 m) and over as large. Such yachts typically require a hired crew and have higher construction standards.Ship's tenderShip's tenderA ship's tender, usually referred to as a tender, is a boat or ship used to service or support other boats or ships. This is generally done by transporting people or supplies to and from shore or another ship. A second and different meaning for "tender" is small boats carried by larger vessels, to be used either as lifeboats, or as transport to shore, or both.WatercraftWatercraftA watercraft or waterborne vessel is any vehicle designed for travel across or through water bodies, such as a boat, ship, hovercraft, submersible or submarine. TypesHistorically, watercraft have been divided into two main categories. Rafts, which gain their buoyancy from the fastening together of components that are each buoyant in their own right. Generally, a raft is a "flow through" structure, whose users would have difficulty keeping dry as it passes through waves.TowingTowingPulling an object Large ballast tractor pulling a heavy load (a transformer) on a hydraulic modular trailer using a drawbar A British Airways Concorde being towed in New York City Towing is coupling two or more objects together so that they may be pulled by a designated power source or sources. The towing source may be a motorized land vehicle, vessel, animal, or human, and the load being anything that can be pulled.MarinaMarinaA marina (from Spanish, Portuguese and Italian: "related to the sea") is a dock or area of water with piers and moorings for securing and parking yachts and small boats. A marina differs from a port in that a marina is not designed to handle large passenger ships or freighters, and is often for leisure boating activities such as yachting, sailing and boat tours.BoatBoatA boat is a watercraft of a large range of types and sizes, but generally smaller than a ship, which is distinguished by its larger size or capacity, its shape, or its ability to carry boats. Small boats are typically used on inland waterways such as rivers and lakes, or in protected coastal areas. However, some boats (such as whaleboats) were intended for offshore use. In modern naval terms, a boat is a vessel small enough to be carried aboard a ship.MotorhomeMotorhomeA motorhome (or coach) is a type of self-propelled recreational vehicle (RV) which is, as the name suggests, like a home on wheels. FeaturesMotorhomes usually have sleeping spaces for two to eight people. Each sleeping space is either fixed or converted from another part of the motorhome's interior, usually a fold-out sofa. A kitchenette area contains cooking equipment.RowingRowingRowing is the act of propelling a human-powered watercraft using the sweeping motions of oars to displace water and generate reactionalpropulsion.LoanwordLoanwordA loanword is a word at least partly assimilated from one language (the donor language) into another language (the recipient or target language), through the process of borrowing. Loan and borrow are here metaphorical terms that are well established in linguistics despite their acknowledged descriptive flaws: nothing is taken away (from the donor language) and there is no expectation of returning anything (from the recipient language).Bengali languageBengali languageBengali, also known by its endonym Bangla, is an Indo-Aryan language belonging to the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family.
