his nickname "Mineiro" was given to him because he inherited from his older brother, which also did a test at Internacional de Porto Alegre but did not follow the career as a footballer, because his brother had a similar playing style with Cláudio Mineiro (who played at Internacional between 1979 and 1980). Then the evaluators at Internacional began calling Carlos Luciano by the nickname of Mineiro and it got stuck.
