History

Kewarra Beach is situated in the Djabugay (Tjapukai) traditional Aboriginal country. The origin of the suburb name is said to be from an Aboriginal word 'kewarra', meaning 'at the foot of the rainbow', though this has not been confirmed by linguists. The area was primarily used for growing
