. It is named after former mayor and provincial cabinet member René Fontaine. The airport is owned by the Town of Hearst and day-to-day operations managed by Commercial Aviation since the 1980s.

Traffic at the airport consists of cargo and general aviation flights, including air ambulance and wildland firefighting operations. It can handle aircraft up to the

Facilities

The airport has a few structures, namely a small shed, hangar and terminal building. There are four helipads located on the northwest side of the apron, adjacent to the terminal.


Ground transportation

The airport is accessible by car only. Airport Road provides access to the airport and connects to Highway 11/
