History

A post office called Goodman has been in operation since 1897. The community was named for L. A. Goodman, a businessperson in the local orchards industry.

Goodman is located in northern McDonald County along Missouri Route 59 just east of U.S. Route 71 and

The city sits on a ridge which drains east to Indian Creek, south to its tributary, Beaver Branch, and west to the Sugar Fork of Buffalo Creek.
