It was known as ACL Community for its namesake town names of Allerton, Clio and Lineville until 1966 when Allerton voted to join Cambria-Corydon to form Wayne Community Schools. Lineville–Clio has since merged with Wayne Community Schools in Corydon. No classes have been held in Clio for many decades with all classes being held at the campus in Lineville before merging with Wayne Community.
Miscellaneous Facts
Clio is served by the Union Pacific Railroad, Its predecessor (the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad purchased the Minneapolis-Kansas City "Spine Line" from the bankrupt Rock Island Railroad in the 1980s. There has not been a depot nor passenger service in Clio since the middle 1900s, although the line is very busy with through freight traffic.
