awarded Gutiérrez the game ball to celebrate his NFL debut. He was waived on August 30, 2022, and signed to the practice squad the next day. He signed a reserve/future contract on January 31, 2023. The San Francisco 49ers were able to sign Gutiérrez as an extra practice squad member for a third and final year during the 2023 season. Gutiérrez stated that his goal was to make the final roster for the 2023 season, stating "with these two years of learning, I'm hoping I can land a spot in the 53". He was waived on August 29, 2023 and re-signed to the practice squad the following day. He was not among the players signed to reserve/future contracts in 2024 and thus became a free agent when his practice squad contract expired.
