2022–23 Boston Bruins Season

The 2022–23 Boston Bruins season was the Bruins' 99th season as a member of the National Hockey League.

On November 25, 2022, the Bruins set a record for most consecutive home wins to start the season with 12 straight with a 3–2 overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes. The streak extended to 14 on December 3. The streak ended three days later after they lost 4–3 to the Vegas Golden Knights in a shootout. They also went 22 straight home games without a regulation loss to start the season before losing 3–0 to the Seattle Kraken.

On January 24, 2023, the Bruins recorded their 80th standings point of the season in their 47th game, becoming the fastest team to 80 points in NHL history, and surpassing the record that both the 1943–44 Montreal Canadiens and 1979–80 Philadelphia Flyers previously held, both at 49 games.

On March 2, 2023, the Bruins recorded their 100th standings point of the season in their 61st game, becoming the fastest team to 100 points in NHL history, and surpassing the record the 1976–77 Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadiens had previously held at 62 games.

On March 11, 2023, the Bruins recorded their 50th win of the season in 64 games, becoming the fastest team to 50 wins in a season in NHL history, and surpassing the records that 2018–19 Tampa Bay Lightning and 1995–96 Detroit Red Wings held previously, both at 66. Later that day, they also became the first team of the season and the third fastest team to clinch a playoff berth in an 82-game season. The Bruins won their 3rd Atlantic Division title and 27th overall with a win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 25. They won their fourth Presidents' Trophy with an overtime victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets five days later on March 30.

The Bruins set an NHL record for most wins and points in a season with 65 wins and 135 points respectively, surpassing the records previously held by the 2018–19 Tampa Bay Lightning, 1995–96 Detroit Red Wings, and 1976–77 Montreal Canadiens. Despite this, the Bruins were upset in the first round by the Florida Panthers in seven games despite having a 3–1 lead. As such, they joined the 2007 New England Patriots, 2001 Seattle Mariners, 1906 Chicago Cubs, and 2015–16 Golden State Warriors as all-time winningest regular season teams not to win their respective league's championship. Unlike those teams, however, the Bruins lost in the first round of the playoffs, while the Mariners reached the ALCS and the Patriots, Cubs, and Warriors all reached their respective championship series.
