Ongoing M5 line construction (future service)

As of 2021, the last station of the east side of the 20-kilometer M5 metro line is Çekmeköy station. ''M5 Çekmeköy- Sancaktepe - Sultanbeyli metro'', which is under construction, will have a total length of 30.9 kilometres in case the third stage is completed. The first part of this section, from this station to Samandıra Merkez, opened on 16 March 2024, with the remaining section expected to be completed in 2025.
