Ómar Ingi Magnússon
Ómar Ingi Magnússon (born 12 March 1997) is an Icelandic handball player for SC Magdeburg and the Icelandic national handball team. In both 2021 and 2022, he was named the Icelandic Sportsperson of the Year. Club career In summer 2014 he switched over to Valur where he was supposed to be a part of the youth setup. He soon started to break through to the first team and earned a squad role, at age 17. He played there until 2016 when he transferred to the Danish club Aarhus Håndbold after an impressive season in Iceland where he was chosen young player of the year. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season in Denmark he transferred to league rivals Aalborg Håndbold, joining fellow nationals Janus Daði Smárason, Arnór Atlason and coach Aron Kristjánsson. With Aalborg he won the Danish Cup competition in 2018 and the Danish championship in 2019 and 2020. For the 2020/21 season he moved to the German Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg. Selfoss (town)
Selfoss () is a town in southern Iceland on the banks of the Ölfusá river. It is the seat of the municipality of Árborg. The Icelandic Route 1 (Iceland), Route 1 runs through the town on its way between Hveragerði and Hella, Iceland, Hella. The town is a centre of commerce and small industries with a population of 9000 (2021), making it the largest residential area in South Iceland. Geography Selfoss is located about 11 km inland from the southwestern coast of Iceland, and 50 km from Reykjavík. It is the major town and the administrative seat of the Southern Region (Iceland), Southern Region. The closest other towns are Eyrarbakki, Stokkseyri and Hveragerði. Danish Men's Handball League
The Danish Men's Handball League, formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen is the men's top Denmark, Danish professional Team handball, handball league. The winners of the Danish Men's Handball League are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are GOG Håndbold. Season The Danish Men's Handball League season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. No. 3 and 4 start with 1 point, while no. 5-8 start with no points. After these six games the two top teams in each group will play semifinals. No. 1 from one group is up against no. 2 from the other. The winners will meet in finals, while the losers will play against each other for the bronze medal.
