Contagem () is a city in the center of the state of Minas Gerais, in Brazil. It is only from the capital, Belo Horizonte, and forms part of a metropolitan area with a population of 4.8 million. Over time, the city's geographic boundaries were lost due to its horizontal growth towards the capital, causing intense conurbation with Belo Horizonte. Caeté
Caeté is a Brazilian municipality located in the state of Minas Gerais. Geography The city belongs to the mesoregion Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte and to the microregion of Belo Horizonte. The municipality contains a small part of the Serra do Gandarela National Park, created in 2014. Etimology The name ''Caeté'' is derived from the local term for some Marantaceae, in particular '' Stromanthe'' and '' Thalia''.
