Deltiology
Deltiology (from Ancient Greek, Greek , , diminutive of , , "writing tablet, letter"; and , ) is the study and collecting, collection of postcards. The word was first coined by Professor Randall Rhoades of Ashland, Ohio, in 1945. A postcard or post card is a piece of thick paper or thin Card stock, cardboard, typically rectangular, intended for writing and mailing without an envelope.
